Sump pump installation and repair

A sump pump moves groundwater away from your foundation before it gets into the basement. We install new pumps, replace worn ones, and add alarms and battery backups so a power cut in a storm does not flood you.

New sump pump installation

A new system means cutting a pit into the basement floor, setting in a liner, connecting the weeping tiles, and running a discharge pipe outside, away from the house. We place the discharge so the water does not run back toward your foundation or onto a neighbour.

Replacement and repair

Pumps wear out. A stuck float switch, a failed check valve or a tired motor are common. We test the pump, fix what can be fixed, and replace the pump when that is the safer choice.

Alarms and battery backup

Storms knock out power exactly when the pump is needed most. A battery backup keeps pumping during an outage, and a high water alarm tells you if the water is rising. Toronto's subsidy covers both when they are itemized on the invoice.

Financing through Financeit

Financing is available through Financeit for eligible residential projects. Ask Waterworks about the options for your job. Financing is subject to credit approval. Terms and conditions apply.

Keep the sump pit and discharge route working

A sump pit collects groundwater so the pump can discharge it outside. Sediment and debris can obstruct the equipment. Ask us to assess the pit, pump and discharge route, or discuss electronic wireless flood protection for your home.

We serve homes in Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York and nearby Toronto communities.
