Bathroom plumbing

Most bathroom problems start small: a slow drain, a drip under the vanity, a toilet that will not stop running. We find the cause and fix it, whether that takes one part or a new fixture. You do not need to be renovating to call us.

Common reasons people call

  • Water under the vanity or around the toilet
  • A sink, tub or shower that drains slowly
  • A toilet that runs, rocks or clogs often
  • A dripping tap or a shower stuck on hot or cold
  • A stain on the ceiling below the bathroom
  • A new vanity, toilet or tap that needs fitting

Start with what you are seeing

One fixture or the whole line?

If only one fixture is slow, the clog is usually close to it. If the toilet gurgles when the sink drains, or the tub fills when you flush, the blockage is further down in a line those fixtures share. Tell us which fixtures are affected, because it changes what we bring and what we do first. If several rooms are affected, see blocked main drain.

Water on the ceiling below

Water can travel along pipes and framing before it shows, so a stain below a bathroom may not be right under the leak. Common sources are the toilet seal, the tub or shower drain, and the supply lines behind the wall. Stop using that bathroom if the stain is growing, and see hidden water leak detection.

Know your shut-offs

Most toilets and sinks have small valves on the wall or under the vanity. Turn those first. If a valve is stuck or there is not one, use the main. See how to shut off your water. If the small valves in your bathroom no longer work, ask us to replace them while we are there.

Changing more than a fixture?

Swapping a fixture is one job. Moving a fixture or opening the walls is another. See bathroom renovation plumbing, shower installation or basement bathroom plumbing.
