Drain and sewer camera inspection

A camera shows what is really inside your pipe: roots, cracks, a sag, or a collapsed section. You see it on the screen with us, so the repair is based on evidence, not a guess.

A camera inspection makes sense when

  • A drain keeps clogging after it has been cleared
  • You have had a basement backup
  • Tree roots are near your sewer line
  • You are buying an older home and want to know the state of the sewer
  • You smell sewage in the basement and cannot find why
  • Someone has quoted you a sewer replacement and you want to see the problem first

What we look for

  • Roots growing through joints, common in older clay and cast iron lines
  • Cracks and broken sections that let soil and water in
  • Bellies (sags) where water and waste sit in a low spot
  • Grease and scale that narrow the pipe
  • Where the problem is, so any repair is in the right spot

How it works

We run a waterproof camera on a cable through a cleanout or drain opening. If the line is blocked, we usually clear it first so the camera can travel. You can watch with us and we explain what you are seeing.

If the camera finds a problem, we tell you what it means and what the options are, from regular cleaning to a spot repair or a new line. See sewer line repair and replacement.
