Burst pipe repair
If water is pouring out, shut off the main valve first, then call us at (416) 489-0000. Every minute of running water means more damage, and closing the valve is the one step that stops it.

Licensed & insuredMetro master plumbing licence15791Do this now
- Close the main water valve, usually on the foundation wall just before the water meter
- Stay out of water near outlets, cords or your electrical panel
- Open a cold tap on the lowest floor to drain the lines
- Take photos for your insurer before you clean up
- Call (416) 489-0000

If the main valve will not close
Old valves seize. Do not force one, since it can break. Call 311 and ask for a water turn-off at the property line. There is a fee, and someone must be home to let staff in. Then see water shut-off valves so it does not happen twice.
What we do
We find the failed section and repair it, then turn the water back on and check for other leaks. We also look at why it failed. Freezing, an old valve and a failing pipe all need different fixes, and old galvanized or Kitec lines may be worth replacing rather than patching.
After the leak is stopped
Call your insurer early and ask what they need before anything is thrown out. Water inside walls and under floors takes time to dry, and drying and restoration are a separate trade from plumbing. We repair the plumbing and close up access openings where we can.
This page covers burst pipe emergency repair.
We serve homes in Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York and nearby Toronto communities.
