Call us when

  • The cabinet under the sink is wet or the base is warped
  • Water drips from the trap or supply lines
  • The basin has come loose or the seal has failed
  • You are replacing a sink or vanity
  • The shut-off valves under the sink are stuck or leaking

Find the leak under the sink

Empty the cabinet, dry everything and run the water while you look. Where it shows up tells you a lot:

  • Only when the water drains: usually the trap, the tailpiece or the seal around the drain.
  • All the time: usually a supply line or a shut-off valve, which are under pressure constantly.
  • Around the rim: often the faucet or the seal between the sink and the counter.

If it is a supply line or valve, close the shut-offs or the main valve until it is fixed.

Installing a new sink

A like-for-like swap is usually straightforward. We connect the drain and supply lines, fit the faucet and test everything for leaks before we go. It is also a good time to replace old shut-off valves and supply hoses, since they are easiest to reach now.

Tell us the make and model when you book, particularly if you already bought the sink, so we can check it suits the counter and plumbing.

Moving a sink

Moving a sink is a different job from replacing one. It needs new supply lines, a drain with the right slope and venting. We plan the route first and explain what is involved. Planning a bigger project? See kitchen plumbing or bathroom renovations.

Utility and laundry sinks

A utility sink needs hot and cold lines and a properly vented drain. See laundry room plumbing for more.
