Mississauga is a different system
Mississauga's water and sewers are run by the Region of Peel, not the City of Toronto. That changes who you call about a City-side problem and which rebates apply. The Toronto basement flooding subsidy does not cover Mississauga homes. Peel has its own backwater valve rebate, below.
What we see in Mississauga homes
- Older south Mississauga homes in Lakeview, Port Credit and Mineola: aging sewer lines and roots from mature trees. A camera inspection shows what is going on.
- Basements that have flooded in heavy storms: a backwater valve keeps sewer water out, and Peel may pay part of it.
