What causes low water pressure throughout the house?

Low water pressure across multiple fixtures in the home is usually a sign of a systemic issue. Common causes include mineral buildup inside galvanized or copper pipes, partially closed main shut-off valves, issues with the pressure reducing valve, or problems at the water meter. In older homes, the internal pipe diameter may have narrowed over time due to corrosion or scale, which restricts flow. We begin by checking the incoming water pressure from the municipal line using a pressure gauge. If it falls below the optimal range, we examine each component of your system to identify where the restriction is occurring. We also inspect aerators, supply lines, and isolation valves to ensure there are no localized obstructions. In some cases, a new pressure regulator or a partial pipe replacement may be needed to restore proper flow throughout the house. We address the issue at the root rather than offering temporary fixes.
